Wedding for Amanda and Shane

Just before I headed to South Africa I had the honor of  officiating  Amanda and Shane’s ceremony. As you can see they had lots of special friends that stood up front with them. Everyone was wonderful and lively and ready to make this the couple’s best day of their lives. We included a personal touch, some lightheartedness and we kept the solemness for the vows and unity candle. You both make a wonderful couple and look forward to keeping in contact with you.

Wedding Ceremony Trish & David

Another wedding I presided over. This is really romantic and the photographer, Don Mamone of Dallas, did an incredible job. I am amazed at the beauty artists like Don Mamone photography can make in bringing perspective to the beauty of our world and the people in it. Click on the media presentation below.

The Violin Guy is probably one of the most gifted individuals that I have come across. A wonderful artist and excellent performer.

Getting started planning your wedding ceremony

You’re getting married! As an officiant, I look forward to helping couples make their wedding day one of the happiest in their lives. Your ceremony is at the heart of the day’s celebration, so the officiant needs to make sure that it’s planned thoughtfully and thoroughly with your input.

The officiant’s goal is to guide you in tailoring your ceremony to fit your personalities. The ceremony should be meaningful and show the beauty of your love for each other, whether the tone is solemn, lighthearted, religious, contemporary, traditional – whatever you feel is right for you as a couple.

Your first step should be to sit down together and ponder the importance of your ceremony. Think about it: It is the start of your big day, the opening event. It shows off who you are as a couple and sets the tone for the whole event. Much time and effort have gone into planning your wedding celebrations. The ceremony is the very cause for these celebrations, so it is important that thoughtful planning be dedicated to making it perfect for you.

Next, determine what approach you would like your ceremony to take. Are you a religious couple who would like a traditional ceremony from a particular denomination? If so, the ceremony would normally involve a prewritten script that is not deviated from. Or are you a spiritual / nondenominational couple who wants a flexible ceremony with limited religious material and prayer? If you are nonreligious, you probably would prefer a civil service, a ceremony that can be full of meaning and romance without any religious content.

Finally, consider adding special touches or traditions to your ceremony. Traditions can be in keeping with your family history or cultural background. You might need to do some research on these traditions and check with your officiant and the facility to see if they will allow such an event.

Special touches to your ceremony can be meaningful symbols of your love for each other. For example, you could include the unity candle, sand ceremony, rose ceremony, handfasting and more. There are many that can be researched on the Internet: www.theknot.com, www.weddingchannel.com, www.weddingwire.com

It should be the commitment of your officiant to capture your love story in a service that is meaningful and romantic to you and your guests. Make your dreams for your wedding ceremony come true!

It is really cold, but getting closer to Spring!

After being caught in the blizzard that hit New York over the holidays, it was a pleasure coming back to Texas to warm up. However, I cannot remember it being so cold for so long, as it is now. I’m ready for the summer to get here (I’m a warm person). Bookings for spring and summer weddings are going great, which means lots of happiness and positive energy going into the Dallas Fort Worth area. Not often we can say that we really love our job, but I love doing weddings, Thank you all that entrusted us to preside over your special day last year. We performed over 170 ceremonies, which is a new record for us!! This year we are going to go more online, to make it easier and better for the bride and groom to be. We are also adding an online store for ceremony materials, which will include sand ceremonies, candles and jewelry, so keep in touch.

Lucas and Brooke had their wedding in September at the Chapelle des Fleurs. Great location in Flower Mound that will attend to your every need. Brooke and her mother, Patricia, worked extremely well together and such a pleasure to experience. Patricia was Brooke and Lucas wedding coordinator and took care of everything so the couple could relax on their special day. Due to another commitment, I was unable to stay for the recption, but what I saw was absolutely beautiful from all the intricate table settings to the huge ice carving, two hearts that soared above everything else. Dad had to do the usual and what a fine job he did. The staff of Chapelle des fleurs were extremely well organized and was a pleasure working with them from my side.

The ceremony included readings from family members and their special touch was the unity candle with the background music of Ava Maria, a beautiful piece that suite the setting perfectly.

Lucas and Brooke I wish you both all the happiness and fulfillment that marriage and love brings us. God bless you both!

PS. Patricia have you started your own wedding planning business yet?

Justin and Anna

What a wonderful wedding this was. Anna and Justin planned everything really well and in advance. Although they had a little mishap in the beginning with their reception venue going out of business, they bounced back and secured The City Place on the 69th floor in Dallas. The ceremony was held at Trammell & Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art. A beautiful setting and their special touch was a few solos from Radu Cernat, www.theviolinguy.net, who continued to entertain us with violin, guitar and solos throughout the reception. An excellent entertainer and highly recommended. The other special touch was the Rose Ceremony which also honored the two mothers and Justin’s grandmother. After the reception Anna and Justin were taken away in a Rolls Royce. Well done Justin and Anna, a superb job which turned out very successful. My desire for you both is that your entire marriage will be just as romantic, entertaining and meaningful as your wedding day.

Saida & Kyle

Kyle and Saida had a semi private wedding at our Gazebo with some high tech video streaming connected to our wireless internet. A couple that was totally in awed by each other and could not wait for this day to come along. They had their best man Kenny and Maja, the matron of honor, do readings in the ceremony. The weather was beautiful and perfect for an outdoor wedding. Congratulations and I pray for God’s blessings on your marriage. They are both continuing their studies at UNT.
